In recent years, there has been a surge in the use of connected medical devices within healthcare infrastructures. This interconnection has numerous advantages, including the capacity to remotely monitor patients, access and share medical records, and increase the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare delivery. It does, however, provide new vulnerabilities and broadens the attack surface for cybercriminals.

Cyber-attacks on medical devices and infrastructures can have devastating effects on patients and healthcare providers. Malware that affects device operation, ransomware that locks access to data or systems until a ransom is paid, or supply chain assaults that install malicious software into devices during the production process are all examples of these attacks.

This presentation will provide an overview of the threat landscape in the medical sector and discuss the most frequent vulnerabilities affecting medical equipment and infrastructures. The team will next highlight some important issues discovered in IoMT devices, as well as some key considerations vendors should consider when building these types of devices.
